This last photo post is very special to me. For the past ten months, I've been living in NorCal. I have considered this location temporary; I am filled with wanderlust and restlessness and intend to move again soon. But I have found elements of home in this place. The open space, the fields of gold, the vines and cattle and heat, the endless sky. San Francisco has become a friendly neighbor, filled with love and acceptance and amazing food. I was lucky enough to travel to the east coast a couple weeks ago for a high school reunion, and a short but sweet visit with my mother. I had forgotten how much I love western Mass. and the small town/village where I grew up. It was my first time back in 18 months, and my first time being there in springtime since early 2014. This was, and in many ways still is, my home. The people, the atmosphere, the smells, the quality of life there is what I find myself craving in my NorCal life. It's hard to move across the country. I never gave myself permission to grieve my childhood or my past life 3000 miles away. Photography is a way of coping with change; there's something therapeutic about keeping a visual journal. Anyway, these are some shots of my various "homes" around America. I can't wait to add to the collection someday.
See you when I see you!
