What a time to be alive. Another strange year in a pandemic stricken world has shown me a lot, again... one thing being, that I will always come back to photography to spark my inner peace when I'm feeling lost. I feel lucky to have found something so uniquely tactile that satisfies the artist in my soul; my inner child. I consider it to be a gift, and one that I yearn to keep sharing with the world. :)

For a special someone's birthday, being in the desert for the first of the wild flower blooms was just what the doctor ordered. The midday light playing off the red sandstone canyon walls with the trickling creek running over our feet, it felt like a hug from the Mother herself. We always seem to find Home in the most wild of places. I can't wait to get back to Moab, Utah.
This summer, I was fortunate to have a partner who dared to venture out into the pandemic stricken world with me to find peace and freedom on the open road. Not only was it the road trip of a lifetime, it taught us so many new things about... well, everything! We learned about ourselves, our relationship, our fears, our goals, our limits, and our affinity for finding the coolest hidden spots in America. I highly recommend taking a road trip with your person within the first year of dating, it will open your eyes and heart so much. We hit 28 states during this two month tour of the U.S. and barely saw any rain as we either chased a storm east or ran from a storm to the west. I dealt with debilitating skin issues for much of the trip, which didn't make living out of the car easy for two months, but it did make me appreciate a lot of things. And though Covid was definitely on our minds, we were super mindful of sanitizing and masking up, and had no issues along the way (except when we got to Maine... another story). I'm glad we did this when we did, (June-Aug), it was great timing and we felt/feel very lucky for that opportunity to go out and see the country. So, here are a few shots from the trip, with captions under each with the location, click on smaller images to enlarge. Best wishes to you for 2021, here's to hoping we can all safely travel again soon! :) Driggs, Idaho to Cody, Wyoming To Devil's Tower and Rushmore we go! and then... Badlands National Park (below) Niagara Falls, NY to The Berkshires (below) Below are shots from the Rockies near Durango, a full blood moon rising over the Salt Flats of Utah, and a sunset over the Rockies by Denver. Back at it... for now. Here are a couple unedited shots of some gorgeous pups in Idaho. :)
Be well, friends! Wow. 2019 was a hell of a ride. This was the hardest, but most rewarding year of my life. My personal growth and mental health took the front seat for most of this year, and I am diving head first into this new decade with a confidence I've never known before. My awesome job has become my life, which I've always yearned for, and I couldn't be happier. With this huge shift in my life comes a need to disconnect. I don't know how often I will post to this blog anymore- it's been so fun to keep up with it and share my images of the world through my own eyes. I fully intend to keep photography as a major creative outlet in my life, but perhaps not on this url. :) Please enjoy this collection of random images from my 2019. None of these images are edited. See under large images for explanations. Happy trails to you, until we meet again! -MLK This trip was a gift from the gods. I'm so grateful for the adults in my life who choose to spoil me. This was the photo extravaganza of a lifetime and I'm so thankful- I will be returning to Paris one day. This city blew my mind.
Here's a selection from the trip (hard to find the time to get 2000 down to 200...). More to come. P.s. these are all unedited (this is the artist baring her soul lol please leave judgements at the door) Wow. It's been a minute! Life has a funny way of interrupting itself...
After a few months of not posting, I have much to do. My apologies to my loyal followers (hey mom) for the longest photography break I've taken so far. With the hiatus comes a new era for me; lots of change, lots of new emotions, and I'm excited to see where my photography style goes from here. I'll work on posting something in the next couple of days. It's officially midsummer! The perfect time to revamp this site. Stay tuned. Between travel and work, and life and sleep, I haven't taken as many photos as I'd like... but here's a couple! :)
