Some photos from a celebratory walk in the field, and on a hike above tree line!
One year ago, my bones rolled over the New Mexico border into Colorado. A fire was lit in me, and I came home. The mountains have called to me for most of my life, and I'm so thankful to be celebrating one year of living in the epic high mountains. I see the snowy caps every day, and feel a flutter in my heart.

I was surrounded by aspen trees when I found my confidence. It was in a remote spot in the middle of Colorado, 12 years ago. That was a time of transition for me, and that's when I found myself drawn to the magic of an aspen grove. Ever since, these leaves have been a source of comfort and power for me. I love their color changes, the pink of the stems, the powder of the bark. The whole tree makes me feel safe, even if I'm literally in the middle of nowhere. To be back with them, to watch them change with the season, brings me inexplicable joy.
